If you read the word "mutant" every time you see the word "metahuman" the book actually makes more sense.
The New 52 version of Teen Titans features a team of teenage muta ... or rather metahumans who work together to help other mutan ... I mean metahumans who are being hunted down by a secret quasi-governmental organization that wants to control their special mutant powers.
