This story actually read better serialized than it does collected. In serialized form there was a good deal of suspense regarding how the story would end, a rare thing in superhero comics. Collected it comes across as little more than another Marvel Comics annual event where the prospect of massive change is raised, but the status quo is ultimately restored.
