The Last Battle (The Chronicles of Narnia, #7) - C.S. Lewis Very mixed feelings about this one. I was blown away by The Last Battle at age 11 and loved Lewis' depiction of a sort of Neoplatoic Narnia-Heaven. There is a surprising nod to religious pluralism when one of the Tash worshiping Muslim substitutes gets into heaven, but only one gets in. The fate of Susan is probably the worst example of the vein of misogyny that runs through Lewis' work. If you believe that the best thing that could happen to a child is to die and go to heaven, then this is the Children's Fantasy novel you have been looking for.
